A Journey from Ancient Landscapes
to Sustainable Futures

This five-day summer course explores how food systems, local knowledge, and cultural heritage interact to shape sustainable futures — through lectures, laboratory activities, field immersion, hands-on experiences, and intercultural exchange. Participants experience how communities develop agricultural systems, manage natural resources, and adapt food production practices under diverse environmental conditions.

🌿 Wota Wati Village Immersion

One of the programme's centrepieces is an immersive overnight field experience in Wota Wati Village, located within the ancient Sadeng River Valley — a landscape shaped by seabed uplift and geological processes. Participants explore sustainable food systems, local knowledge, and community resilience strategies first-hand.

🔬 Laboratory & Hands-On Activities

Beyond lectures, participants visit the tissue culture laboratory and hydroponic greenhouses at FP UNS, join an ecoprint workshop, and take part in cassava farming and traditional food processing activities — connecting classroom knowledge to real agricultural practice.
